Team USA is gearing up with a star-studded roster for the Paris Olympics, headlined by basketball icons LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Joel Embiid, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The lineup also includes luminaries such as Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo, and Anthony Davis, told USA Today Sports.

The squad, led by Golden State Warriors’ Steve Kerr as head coach, might leave one roster spot open initially. Kerr will be assisted by Tyronn Lue of the Los Angeles Clippers, Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat, and Gonzaga’s Mark Few.
Notably, Tatum, Durant, Booker, Holiday, and Adebayo are returning from the team that clinched gold at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. LeBron James, absent from that squad, is making a comeback, marking his first Olympic appearance since the gold victory in London 2012. This upcoming event will be James’ fourth Olympic stint, having previously secured gold in 2008 and bronze in 2004.
For Stephen Curry, the Paris Games will mark his Olympic debut, an opportunity missed in 2016 due to injuries. Similarly, it will be the first Olympic appearance for Joel Embiid, who chose to represent Team USA over France or Cameroon, despite his dual citizenship.
As Team USA aims for a strong comeback following their absence from the medal podium at last year’s FIBA World Cup in the Philippines, they may face tough opposition from teams like France, potentially featuring Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert, Serbia with Nikola Jokić, and a Canadian team expected to include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
