Kansas City Chiefs’ renowned tight end, Travis Kelce, gave fans a moment of anxiety during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Kelce was sidelined with a non-contact ankle injury but made a comeback post-halftime.
In the second quarter, after catching a pass from Patrick Mahomes, Kelce hit the turf at the U.S. Bank Stadium. He seemed to clutch his right ankle, raising immediate concern. Although he managed to jog off the field, he limped out of sight for further check-ups, including an X-ray. Fortunately for the Chiefs and their fans, Kelce was back in action by the third quarter.
Kelce’s prowess on the field is widely recognized, but lately, he’s been garnering attention off the field due to his connection with pop sensation Taylor Swift. Swift’s presence at recent Chiefs games has intertwined the worlds of music and football. However, she seemed to be missing from this particular match in Minneapolis.
Before this injury scare, Kelce had recorded five catches for 22 yards. It’s worth noting he had missed a previous game due to a hyperextended knee. On another note, concerns about artificial grass have been reignited after Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury on a similar turf.
