Multiple law enforcement agencies have canceled the Silver Alert for a missing Durham County man.

Tommy Watkins, 72, didn’t appear to have any severe injuries, the Durham County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities located a missing Durham man and transferred him to a nearby hospital for assessment, according to the Durham County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the sheriff’s office, Tommy Watkins, 72, did not appear to have any serious injuries.

The sheriff’s office thanked first responders and recovery organizations for their help in locating Watkins, who had been missing from his Durham home since Thursday night.

A missing man has been requested by the Durham County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies.

“Without the tireless efforts of Sheriff’s Office personnel and from multiple partner agencies who responded, this could have had a tragic outcome,” said Sheriff Birkhead.

Tommy Watkins, 72, was last seen in his home on Redwood Drive north of Mannix Road on Thursday night, according to the sheriff’s office.

Watkins suffers from cognitive impairment and medical issues that require medication.

Watkins is believed to be wearing a red-collared shirt and gray sweatpants, as well as a green camouflage coat with an orange lining, according to the sheriff’s office.

Watkins’ sister, however, told WRAL News that he was last seen wearing a red shirt and Khaki dress pants.

Watkins is being requested by the sheriff’s office, Emergency Management, the fire department, and the State Highway Patrol.
