Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has taken to the social platform X to showcase her commitment to fitness following remarks made by Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) during a contentious exchange in a recent House Oversight Committee hearing.
Defending her physical fitness, Greene, who is nearing her 50th birthday, shared a video of herself lifting weights to the tune of Sia’s 2016 anthem ‘Unstoppable.’ She captioned the video, stating, “Yes my body is built and strong NOT with nips, tucks, plastic, or silicone, but through a healthy lifestyle,” and expressed her intent to continue an active lifestyle encompassing a variety of sports and activities.
The dispute between Greene and Crockett ignited last Thursday during the hearing, where the representatives exchanged sharp comments. Crockett’s criticism extended to Greene’s appearance, questioning committee decorum by hypothetically referring to someone’s ‘bleach blonde bad built butch body.’ This led Crockett to launch a fundraising campaign featuring T-shirts with the phrase, stirring more attention.
Greene, known for her advocacy of the CrossFit fitness program and public demonstrations of her workout routines, has previously posted similar content. In 2020, she shared a workout video from her hotel room as a form of protest against closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. She remarked on her dedication to training, citing it as a preparation for life’s challenges, echoing sentiments she shared in a Facebook post that year about her commitment to training ‘for life
