Mama June was notably missing from her daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s 17th birthday party… but that didn’t stop her from sending a much-needed apology in light of their split.
Mama June sent a lengthy text message the day before Alana’s 17th birthday, expressing her pride in her daughter and wishing her a happy birthday.
She even apologizes for everything she put Alana through — adding, “I’m here now whenever u need me.” She says work has to get done to fix what’s broken, but is confident a change is coming.
“hope u have a good day,” the “Mama June: Road to Redemption” star, 43, wrote via text, according to TMZ.
“I am very proud of [you] with everything … graduating high school which [is] a big deal. I know I have put [you] through a lot and I’m sorry.”
As you are aware, the waters between them have not been calm in recent years… June lost all contact with her family after being arrested for cocaine possession in 2019.
Alana’s sister, Pumpkin, who became her guardian after a failed intervention, signed off on her sister having a weight-loss procedure last month, which Mama June said she would not have approved of.
“I do see her, I do talk to her,” Mama June told Page Six of the new agreement. “We do communicate. So it wasn’t like any difference.
“The only difference is she’s not sitting right here beside me in my home every day,” she explained at the time.
Despite their falling out, it appears that healing has begun — Mama June tells TMZ. Alana replied to her recent text, thanking her for the message and expressing her love for her mother.
Alana’s mother gave her more than just a text… Alana reportedly asked for a pair of $400 Low Triple Pink Nike Dunks, and Mama delivered them!!! The kicks are set to arrive this week.
