Levi Wright, the 3-year-old son of renowned rodeo star Spencer Wright and his wife, Kallie Wright, tragically passed away on June 2, following a heart-wrenching accident. The sad news was confirmed by Mindy Sue Clark, a close family friend, through a touching Facebook post dated June 3.

In her emotional tribute, Clark expressed the profound pain the family and their friends have experienced, stating, “I cannot even begin to explain how hard the last two weeks have been. From the moment my phone rang the night of his accident, to last night receiving the message that he had to go. I don’t want to focus on the bad or sad, even though it feels like someone ripped my heart out and squeezed it right in front of me.”

The community has rallied remarkably around the Wright family during this devastating time. Clark highlighted the overwhelming support and love Levi received: “The response Levi’s story got was absolutely incredible. How many people have told us our names were permanently in their social media search bars waiting for updates. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people, surrounded our best little buddy, lifted him up in prayer, and threw their loving arms around Levi and his family.”

Levi’s tragic journey began with a dire accident two weeks prior, when he accidentally drove his toy tractor into a river in Utah. The Beaver County Sheriff’s Office detailed the immediate rescue efforts in a May 21 statement, noting that life-saving measures were administered on the scene before Levi was urgently airlifted to a children’s hospital, remaining in critical condition.

Kallie Wright, Levi’s mother, kept the world posted on her son’s condition through social media. On May 24, she shared a hopeful update that Levi “opened his eyes for a period of time.” Unfortunately, the same day, she also relayed the grim news of Levi’s MRI results, which suggested a compromised quality of life.

On June 2, in a heartrending update, Kallie announced the decision to take Levi off life support, after days of exhaustive consultations with neurologists and countless prayers. “Levi showed us just enough to buy us time for all of this. We prayed those things were him defying odds & proving to us that he wanted to stay here but we see now he wanted to give us time to find peace with letting him go,” she explained.

Kallie’s final words reflected a poignant acceptance and a heartfelt goodbye to her son: “I find comfort in knowing he will be restored to the perfect little boy he was & have the ability to do all the things he loves! We will miss him every second of every day down here but feel without unwavering doubt this is the best thing we can do for him! We love you baby beans and I can’t wait till the day you can ‘work the ground’ with me again!”

The Wright family, despite their immense loss, finds solace in the incredible outpouring of love and support from the community, a testament to the impact little Levi had on so many hearts.
