The two-time champion opened up about the issues he dealt with in his personal life. Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian married in 2009, but the former Los Angeles Lakers champion fell over their four-year marriage.
During his marriage to Kardashian, Odom struggled with substance abuse, admitting that while Kardashian was his wife, drugs were his girlfriend. In a teaser for the documentary “TMZ Presents: Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs, & Kardashians,” Odom revealed more about his marriage.
Despite his personal struggles, many Laker fans remember Odom as a Laker winner, having won back-to-back titles and the Sixth Man of the Year award in 2011. In Los Angeles, he averaged 13.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.
Following the 2012-13 season with the Los Angeles Clippers, the forward ended his NBA career. Odom experienced major difficulties after retiring in 2014. Odom was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel in October 2015 and was later hospitalized.
Following that tragic moment in his life, the New York native seemed to be in a better state of mind. He’s been on podcasts such as All the Smoke and Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, where he talked about his previous marriage, dealing with drugs, and even his time in the Purple and Gold.
The two-time NBA champion also launched his own podcast, On the Lo, in which he expresses his thoughts on various sports and entertainment news. The full documentary, which will air on Fox on January 2nd, will provide greater insight into the challenges Odom faced in his personal life.
