Kourtney Kardashian’s seemingly fairytale romance with husband Travis Barker has come at a steep price, affecting her friendships and her relationships with her sisters, who have stayed loyal to her ex, Scott Disick, insiders claim.

Travis, 48, and Kourtney, 45, began dating in 2021, showcasing their passionate love affair publicly before getting married in three ceremonies: Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, and Portofino, Italy. They welcomed their son Rocky in November 2023, eight years after Kourtney ended her tumultuous relationship with Scott, 41, with whom she shares three children: Mason, 14, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 9.

According to DailyMail.com, Scott’s continued closeness with Kourtney’s family has left Travis feeling “threatened.” A source revealed, “When Travis got together with Kourtney on the heels of her and Scott’s long romance, he felt threatened by Scott. Travis made it awkward for Scott to be around the family when he was there. His constant kissing and groping of Kourtney was his weapon, and he knew that it would keep Scott out of the picture.”

Kourtney and Scott’s relationship, which started in 2006, was well-documented on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” showcasing their ups and downs, including cheating allegations and Scott’s rehab stints. Despite their split in 2015, Scott remained a prominent figure in the Kardashian family, navigating co-parenting and maintaining close ties.

However, the dynamic shifted when the show rebranded to “The Kardashians” on Hulu in 2022. Kourtney’s relationship with Travis was in full swing, and Scott admitted it was “a huge adjustment losing her as a best friend.”

In the first season, Kourtney was furious that Scott’s feelings about her engagement became a major storyline. Scott took a step back in season two, making a single cameo, and expressed his reluctance to be portrayed as the “villain” in Kourtney’s new romance, prompting fan backlash demanding his return.

In May 2023, Scott returned for season three after reportedly signing a $2 million deal with Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner. Kris made it clear on Instagram that Scott would always be part of the family, writing, “Scott will NEVER be excommunicated from our family. He’s the father of my grandchildren and a special part of our family. We love him and this is not true.”

The source revealed that Travis’s attempts to exclude Scott ultimately failed. “Travis’ game plan to get Scott out of the picture backfired tremendously. He knows that the Kardashian family’s loyalty lies with Scott. Kourtney and Scott’s kids are very loyal to their father and will always side with Scott when it comes to Travis’ issues with their dad.”

Penelope and Reign have also expressed discomfort with Kourtney and Travis’s PDA. In one episode, Penelope cut short a table tennis game due to Travis’s need to kiss Kourtney, saying, “Mom, no kissing.” Reign echoed this sentiment during a dinner, asking, “Ew, guys! Can you guys not kiss in French again?”

While Kourtney and Travis’s relationship appears idyllic on the surface, it has brought complications and strains within her family, highlighting the complex dynamics at play.
