The New York Knicks have confirmed that OG Anunoby will not participate in Game 3 against the Indiana Pacers due to a hamstring injury. This announcement was made by the team on Thursday, following an injury Anunoby sustained during Wednesday night’s victory at Madison Square Garden.

“The New York Knicks will be without OG Anunoby on Friday night in Indianapolis,” stated the team. Anunoby suffered a left hamstring strain during the second half of the Knicks’ 130-121 win against the Pacers, which has led to his exclusion from the upcoming game, via Bleacher Report.

The incident occurred as Anunoby attempted a layup. He abruptly stopped near the backboard, visibly in pain, and began hopping under the basket. Despite his efforts to continue, Anunoby quickly exited to the locker room as soon as play halted and did not return to the court. He concluded the game with 28 points, having made 10 of 19 shots.

Since his mid-season trade from the Raptors, Anunoby has been averaging 14.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game with the Knicks. The severity of his hamstring injury and his recovery timeline remain uncertain. He was immediately ruled out for Game 3, and with only a day’s rest before the next game, his status for Game 4 on Sunday is still unknown.

In addition to Anunoby’s absence, the Knicks have listed Jalen Brunson as questionable for Game 3 after he sustained a right foot injury during the same game. Despite missing the entire second quarter, Brunson returned later in the game, contributing 29 points and helping secure a nine-point victory.

Currently leading the series 2-0 against the Pacers, the Knicks are poised for a potential first appearance in the Eastern Conference finals since 2000.
