In the highly anticipated Season 5 premiere of “The Kardashians,” tensions flare as Kim Kardashian vents her frustrations about Khloé Kardashian opting out of an overseas trip. The 39-year-old Good American founder decided to stay close to their sister Kourtney Kardashian, who was in her third trimester of pregnancy with son Rocky.
Khloé’s decision not to attend Paris Fashion Week sparked irritation in Kim, who didn’t hold back her feelings in a sneak peek of the episode obtained by People. “Khloé’s not coming and honestly, she’s just not feeling it. When you’re not feeling it, there’s nothing that can force you to come and have a good time, like you will just be miserable,” said the 43-year-old SKIMS founder. “I’m not in the mood to deal.”
When shown Kim’s comments during a confessional, Khloé looked surprised and explained her rationale for staying behind. “Kourtney is at the very end of her pregnancy. I feel like someone has to be here,” the “Strong Looks Better Naked” author emphasized. “Even for all the kids, like God forbid there’s a natural disaster. I just felt somebody has to be here.”
Khloé, who shares daughter True, 6, and son Tatum, 21 months, with ex Tristan Thompson, went on to acknowledge her tendency to overthink and be overly cautious. “I know I’m insane, welcome to my mind,” she admitted.
However, Kim wasn’t convinced by Khloé’s reasoning and expressed that her younger sister needed to “get out and live her life.” “All arrows are pointing towards misery. She feels guilty for leaving and she just should be home,” Kim said.
At one point, the sisters’ bickering escalates, leading Kim to tell Khloé to “get out.” Khloé fires back, “I don’t care what other people think. I’m happy!”
The tension between the sisters continues in a preview for Season 5, released last month, where their heated exchanges take center stage. At one point, Kim can be heard telling Khloé that she has a “stick up her a**.” Khloé, in turn, tells the cameras that her sisters don’t always get along. “I always say that I won the jackpot in the family department, but sisters can be vicious and brutal,” Khloé stated.
While the exact cause of their fighting remains unclear, Khloé defends herself, suggesting that Kim was “going through a lot right now” and “taking it out on” her.
Despite their recent conflicts, Khloé and Kim have a history of close bonding, especially after both welcoming children in 2018. Their older sister even highlighted how “going through the same things” had significantly “bonded” the pair during an episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast.
Season 5 of “The Kardashians” promises to delve deeper into the family’s dynamics and the challenges they face. Fans can catch the new episodes on Hulu, starting May 23.
