Joseph Viso, a Republican candidate for the New Jersey Assembly, confessed to a criminal act in 2009 where he defaced a daycare facility with fecal matter. This incident was reported by the New Jersey Globe, highlighting that Viso’s act was partly due to his frustration over Barack Obama’s presidential win.
Viso’s clash with the Children’s Studio, which shared a neighboring building with his electrical company, led to him pleading guilty to criminal mischief charges. He received a fine of $250. This disagreement was aggravated by Viso playing music with inappropriate lyrics from his business, disturbing the daycare center.
Colleen Dolaghan, the daycare’s owner, reported the defacement, with the police detective confirming the existence of evidence against Viso. On being confronted, Viso expressed regret, acknowledging his indiscretion.
Furthermore, Viso’s past also records federal and state convictions related to drug and weapon offenses. Despite these blemishes, Viso perceives his transparency about his past as an advantage in his political pursuit, emphasizing his imperfections and growth from past mistakes.
